History of Brooks House

October 2006: Community Homeless Outreach and Support, Inc., was established operating under the name Brooks House

March 2007: Liz Reese is hired as the first Director of Brooks House

July 2007: The property at 219 Virginia Avenue is purchased to serve as the new home of Brooks House

April 2008: Renovation is complete and Brooks House opens its doors with 2,700 square feet

November 2013: Melanie Johnson is hired as the first Assistant Director of Brooks House

April 2014: Brooks House breaks ground on facility expansion
